If you are a teen or adult, you may pick up a volunteer application at the reference desk to become a volunteer shelver, homework helper, and more. All volunteers must be 14 years of age and willing to commit to at least two hours per week, and three months of service. The library card you previously added can't be used to complete this action.
The Mountain Home Public Library, located in Mountain Home, ID, offers books, periodicals, and other information sources to patrons. The library collection also includes electronic databases, films, and other cultural materials. On November 3rd, the Mountain Home Public Library held its monthly board meeting. The meeting was relatively short, though a number of important topics were touched on. The Teen Advisory Board is a group of teens (ages 12-18) who meet monthly at the library to advise on matters of teen services, programming, selection of teen materials, event planning, etc. Make every effort to arrive for meetings and programs on time; notify the TAB Coordinator if you are going to be late. Add a library card to your account to borrow titles, place holds, and add titles to your wish list. Raise awareness of library services and activities among peers. Come to meetings prepared to share ideas for programming and events. Director Hochstrasser followed new business by giving the director’s report.

Aside from having your voice heard and your ideas taken seriously by the library, all time spent in meetings or assisting with programs/events can be counted for volunteer/service learning hours as may be required by your school. Participation in TAB is a great way to meet teens from outside your school and take part in your community. TAB membership is something you will want to include on college applications and resumes.

Help with set up, tear down, and assistance at one of the Friends of the Library Book Sale events. Following this, a brief discussion was held regarding a contract for leased computers. The board was asked to decide whether they would prefer to purchase the computers they have been leasing, or extend the lease. After noting the nature of technology and its common habit of outdating itself, the board members elected to extend the lease. After approving the minutes and bills, the board moved on to old business.
